Cenia New York launches Jean Line and chooses her Brand Ambassador in Puerto Rico!

I have never met a woman who does not own a pair of jeans, any age, any size. I myself can not live without them. One of my favorite Designers Cenia Paredes (Cenia New York), a Designer that has dressed celebrities with her beautiful designs will launch her Jean Line this coming July and I was over the moon about that.

ce

Paredes told me “If you are like me and always had to take your jeans in at back waist because your hips and butt are significantly bigger than your waist, the solution is finally here! The Cenia Convi Jean solves that problem with two zippered darts at the back waist that makes the waist measurement about 2″ smaller than the standard jeans on the market. I always had issues with this, my waist is smaller then my booty , so I always end up having a gap at the back of my jeans . it blew my mind hearing how Cenia is going to help us girls out there with this struggle.

ceee

When the zippers are down, the have a standard Jean waist measurement! So if you are tired of your jeans gapping at the back or bunching up when you belt them, you will love this! Also they are super stretchy and soft like leggings and have no pocket bag at the front, because you know if you are hippy those things keep popping out and you have to continuously tuck them in.

ceeeeee

In addition, the waistline is cut 2″ below your natural waist, so it sits at the right spot to tuck you in at the stomach and love handles and give you the prefect fit and coverage for your body. The Cenia Convy Jean is patent pending and comes in a variety of colors and styles.” The Designer has started her shoots in New York with gorgeous models and I am so happy for model Ana Garcia who she named her Brand Ambassador in PR. Her last shoot with the model for her debut at HSN was a hit, getting media attention in Top Newspapers and websites.

ceeeeeeee

The model will shoot in Florida with Photographer Jae Bfaimages Brown in a couple of weeks. Can’t wait for the launch of the Cenia Convy Jean! Will keep you posted.

When Depression knocks at our door!

It’s been a while since I have written here…things have been hectic but in a good way, I have been up and down the last few months in shoots, traveling, and writing my Newspaper Column among other things. So glad to be here at Curvy Girl on a Budget again.
This is a very special blog, the topic is a very serious one. It is not about Fashion Shows, Models, Makeup etc, it is about Depression… Depression can happen to anyone, even people who seem to have it all. It takes over your mind, body and soul.

lyz

I myself have many people in my life who I love that have it. In our journey through life we meet people that have a great impact on us, I have met some and one is Editor and Chief of Style and Curve Magazine Lyz Lupo. She is kind, beautiful, and so passionate about helping the Plus Size Community all over the world always helping others without asking anything in return.

I so loved the 12 models chosen for 2017 as their featured models. She is not afraid to speak her mind and that is what I love most about her. When I read her article about her Depression (which I read every time I feel a bit down myself with so much negativity going on in this world) I could not believe it was happening to her…my heart wept for her. Here is one of my favorite parts of her article because I could relate to it, it literally gave me chills!

“You have to let go,
You should really forgive the people who hurt you deliberately or unintended,
You must really analyze your behaviour and your thoughts,
You should really change both to avoid a negative effect,
You must really accept your mistakes and failures and see yourself in a positive way again,
You should really understand why you are alive and what purpose in life God has for you,
You must really accept the suffering and embrace the challenges,
You should really lose your fear over the future; whatever happens lies in Gods hands,
You must really believe that if other people want to do you wrong, then it will only be them who suffer the most – not you!
You should really love your soul and the people around you no matter what,
You must think, speak, behave and suffer in a positive way!” Lyz Lupo

Glad to know that she has taken steps to get better, reconnecting with her soul. If you know someone with Depression listen to them, get them help it is not a joke!!
Read her article here and share, it is a must read!!

Cenia New York is one of my favorite designers not only is she talented but she makes me proud to be Dominican. She is Dominican like I am and to see someone from my country make big moves like this,  inspires me so much.  Cenia has been all around the world and now she is expanding her line to a size 24W. Im so happy about that because now I can wear her designs, her dresses flatter every woman no matter what size. Cenia is a Designer that has heard the voices of consumers expanding her line to size 24W, and her mission is to make every woman feel and look beautiful. Perseverance and hard work are the keys to her success, Paredes says .

Cenia who traveled to Russia a couple of weeks ago to promote her line at #hse24russia is excited to announce, her debut collection at HSN, a leading interactive entertainment and lifestyle retailer.

Just in time for summer 2016, Paredes will bring nine of her signature dresses. Knee length, body-con signature silhouettes, are fully lined and made from quality stretch fabrics that conceal and provide a sexy, yet tasteful look while flattering curves without the need for body shapers. HSN’s exclusive special retails on this collection, provide an unmatchable value given the intricacy of details, construction and included accessories of these dresses.

It gets better…As an added bonus, the collection is offered in Cenia’s proprietary distinctive fits created to flatter and compliment the most predominant female body types in America: The Cenia Fit, for pear shaped women and Cenia’s regular fit for the curvier women! The gorgeous model Ana Garcia did a shoot in Puerto Rico captured by the lens of Vanessa Velez Photography, of the collection that will be at HSN.

I am in love with the designs, and can we talk about the red dress so SEXY and HOT!! I can see myself rocking that dress, showing off my curves, looking so Sexy and Hot!. I love the way the dresses can go from day to nighttime, by simply adding an accessory like bold earrings, a bracelet, or necklace, something great with our busy schedules. Congrats to Cenia New York for taking her brand to another level, and for being our voice letting the world know that a Plus Size Woman is beautiful too!

San Juan Moda goes Curvy!

Once upon a time Puerto Rico was an Island where thin models were always featured in Top Magazines and Fashion Shows…not anymore.

sannnnn

The Curvy Boom has reached the Island. Mainstream magazines are using Plus Size Models, some being Esposa Moderna and Imagen Magazine, two of the leading magazines here. San Juan Moda Fashion Show included its first Plus Fashion Show this year and I was so happy, I saw familiar faces of models I have worked with in the past and new faces at the show.

Sanjuann

Model and Public Figure Maria Maria modeled a beautiful design that I so loved. I couldn’t be there but I saw the coverage from San Juan Moda site, and loved Bob Varela’s images of the event, I also loved the diversity used choosing the models.

Sanjuannu

The Designers presenting their collections were Carol Reyes, Elda Samano, Emmanuel Acosta, Javier Arnaldo, Osvaldo Morales, Patricia Rivera and Lizet Miró.

San juan n

Many models just rocked that runway, they owned it, making me so proud that the Fashion World in Puerto Rico is realizing that Plus is beautiful too.

San juannn

Curvy girl on a Budget Editor,Violet Moya, Skye Lexi from UK and Photographer Fernando Legaspi based in Florida collaborated with me to choose their 5 choices of their favorite designs and models, who they thought owned the runway that night, I loved the selection.

Sanjuaa

Skye Lexi worked as Evolve Magazine’s social manager for two years and then went on to work with both Rianne Ward and Remi Ray to help get the British Plus Size fashion week started.

Sanjuannnn

Fernando Legaspi a Photographer based in Florida has been doing Photography for about 15 years. His work runs from fashion, model/actress photography also working in newspapers and magazines in Mexico… I will be working with him in August…I am headed down to Florida for this shoot and can’t wait to meet him…so they were the perfect people to choose the Top Five. I didn’t choose because I don’t think it would of been fair knowing some of the girls, I would of picked all of them. The models chosen had presence, confidence, style and grace on the runway, something very important for a model to have thin or curvy, you can see from the images that these models had it all put together.

How to get a Bikini Ready Body!

TARGET_LOGO

Disclosure: “This post was sponsored by Target but all opinions are 100% my own”

I don’t know about you but I am so over this cold weather. I’m from New york and LOVE the cold but enough is enough; give me some sun already. I want to hit the beach now – what’s up,mother nature?! The title of my post is how to get a bikini body and I know you’re like okay tell me how and it is easy?! YES it is!

IMG_6472

Step One: Have a Body
Step Two: Put a swimsuit on!
Step Three: Rock the hell out of that swimsuit!

I know it’s easier said than done. A lot of us, including myself, still struggle with body insecurities, especially in a society that tells you that your body isn’t good enough. That what you see in the magazines is real and that you should diet to be accepted in this world. I’m here to tell you that you are perfect they way you are, that all bodies are good bodies. That your “imperfections”aren’t flaws they distinguishing features that make you, you! You are the master of your own body, you can do whatever you want with it. Something that I try to do every time I have a day when I feel absolutely crappy about myself and body is look in the mirror and say out loud what I love about my body.

IMG_6474Love your stretch marks. A lot of us feel like “oh they are ugly, etc.” But, for most of us who havestretch marks, they’re evidence of a life well-lived, or even of carrying human life. Doing this everyday won’t magically make you feel better overnight, but it will get you there; it takes time loveyour body for all that it is. Once you stop seeing your body as an excuse for not doing something or wearing something, you start realizing all the things you are capable of, regardless of size.

“There is nothing wrong with your body. But there is a lot wrong with the messages which try to convince you otherwise.” — Rae Smith

You have to fall in love with who you are and know that you are a kickass person. A quote from Oscar Wilde that really resonated with me when I first heard it was, “To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance.”  This summer I am going to rock a swimsuit unashamed. I actually picked out three of my favoriteones that I wouldn’t normally wear because of my insecurities.
IMG_6473
Thanks to Target, I was able to find my perfect fit. I searched online at Target.com for the ones that I wanted and found that not only were they available online, but also in-store as well. I love that they have free shipping and returnsso I can try as many swimsuits as I like without a hassle. I love the options they have for the plus-sizelines; it’s so hard to find a stylish swimsuit that actually fits the way you want it to fit. I completely love wearing high-waisted bikinis and tankinis; they truly make me so happy and I look damn good in them too! When you head to buy a swimsuit I suggest you bring a friend with you that will cheer you on while trying on your suit, I know when I go a bring a few friends along and have a mini swimsuit fashion show. I suggest trying on different tops and bottoms and seeing what works for your body type, wear what makes you feel beautiful!

“Stop wasting so much energy hating your body; it makes you weaker. Everything good in your life begins from the moment you begin accepting, understanding, respecting and loving your true self”. — Harry Papas
So this summer I promise myself to wear that swimsuit I was eyeing, to not be ashamed of wearing what I want just because I feel like others may judge me. I refuse to miss out on things just because I’m afraid of my cellulite and bigger arms.
